Clifford Smith got his nickname "Mr. Vegas" from his football comrades as they thought he kicked the ball like a "showgirl" from Las Vegas. It was a derogatory nickname that his colleagues today must consume. Mr. Vegas is today one of the major dancehall artists and has worked with people like Sean Paul, Beenie Man, Shaggy.

In 1998 he got his first major Jamaican hit with "Nike Air". It was followed up with "Heads High" (which also became the name of his debut album) which took the top of the charts in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Since then, Mr. Vegas has released a number of albums and had many big hits. "Hot Gal Today", "Pull Up", "Tek Wey Yuhself", "Hot Wuk" and "Nuh Friend From Them" are some of his greatest songs. In recent years he has gone from dancehall to trying out several different genres, including hip-hop, soca, reggaeton and gospel.

Despite statements in 2008 that he would end his career, he has continued and that we are grateful for. Don't miss the chance to see one of dancehalls biggest!
