In 2001 Alborosie decided to try a solo career. He moved to Jamaica to be close to reggae music. There, he started working as sound engineer and producer. He has also worked with artists like Gentleman, Ky-Mani Marley. His first solo album was called Soul Pirate. With tunes like “Kingston Town”, “Herbalist”, “Police” and “Rastafari Anthem” he soon became a rising star.
Albarosie has been buying up old analog equipment from studios and artists like King Tubbys, Tuff Gong and Jackie Mitto in his quest to bring reggae back to it´s original 60´s and 70´s roots.
In the summer of 2009 he released his second album "Escape from Babylon on the album is the tune “Operation Uppsala” where he tells about an incident that occurred in 2008 at the Uppsala Reggae Festival.
