Kapten Röd began his musical path by listening to hip-hop and dancehall. During high school days, he discovered the joy of creating beats which he then gave to different rappers. This inspired him even more. As a consequence the band Kingsfarm Guerilla was created at a party and suddenly Kapten Röd stood on the other side of the mic. Although the band was mostly a joke they got positive feedback which encouraged them to continue. After a while, the music evolved into something more serious and the captain went solo.

In 2007 he released his long awaited debut album, Stjärnorna finns här with songs like "Stjärnorna finns här", "Trasig" and "Kallakallaka". Since then, Kapten Röd has been an requested artist on Sweden's festivals.

In addition to being one of Sweden's largest reggae and dancehall artists he is also one of the country's few reggae producers. He has produced music for people like Million Stylez, Promoe, Ziggi and Papa Dee.

This year, Kapten Röd is coming back to URF "by public demand". After having made a phenomenal gig last year at the tent stage, he has received the honor of playing on the main stage this year. Don't miss out!
