Anthony B was born in Clark´s Town Jamaica. Growing up he was infleunced by his deeply religious mother and grandmother. In his teens he got invovled in the Rastafari movement, which his family disliked. He refused giving up his belives and moved to his uncle and ant in Kingston.

Anthony B made his debut on a local Sound System, Shaggy Hi Power, whilst still in school, but not until 1993 he released his first single “The Living is Hard”. After trying on several producers, he started to work with Richard “Bello” Bell. This resulted in some of his first hit singles as “Fire Pon Rome”, Raid the Barn”, “Rumors” and “Repentence Time”.

1996 came his first debut album Real Revolutionaries followed by Universal Struggle in 1997. Both albums had great success both inside and outside the reggae sphere.
